Hmmm...I'd argue that you need a sword to sharpen the pencil to continue using it. The other thing is you can use a sword as a pencil as long as you've got a body to dip it into as an inkwell. You can kill someone with a pencil, but then again you can't chop meat with a pencil. This seems to be tipping the balance in favour of the sword being the mightier.
