If I did change it and got more votes I would feel I had not deserved it. In any case Cath, I'm happy just to appreciate your humour and inventiveness :)
When someone leaves a comment on how to improve a caption ,should the captioneer alter it or is this wrong? Would it be classed as getting help from someone else?
I'm sure most captioneers would agree that if a good suggestion is given, then it's always positive to follow the advice and change the caption. I don't think anyone would consider this cheating.
# anon Thanks Guido and Chris. I think Cath's suggestion makes it a better caption but I think it then ceases to be my caption and, as I've said, any subsequent votes are not deserved! I can see the argument for accepting suggestions though but I guess it is up to the individual whether to change or not. It occurs to me that the extent of the change must come into play: it could be considerable or it could be negligible. Always happy to receive comments on captions though! Thanks for your input

But of course you're free to leave it as it is!

Hi Guido,
I'm planning a "suggested change" feature on the site and have upped the priority of this on the todo list
