It is considered bad form to change the caption if people have already voted. Although I have voted for a caption and had a message from a Captioneer asking if he could change it. The change made the caption better, so I said I didn't mind. I usually change mine if I find a Caption has already been done that is too similar, but the dupe detector hasn't picked it up.
