My blunder and your subsequent correction gave rise to my discovering that 'maby' as spelt by me, is what is known as a 'habit pattern error'. It is basically a learned error which becomes highly resistant to correction. There is an interesting site at www.spellingzone.com which covers the habit in more detail. I have a friend who consistently spelt words such as door or floor as floar and doar. I am grateful that you pointed out my error as otherwise i would likely have continued to repeat it indefinitely. I had to go through one word at a time and check the spelling as i had thought 'maby' was correct. The term 'round' of course is a colloqualism. This site attracts individuals at varied skill levels, some people may have problems due to a difficult condition which may be an occasional source of embarrassment. I find my spelling and use of correct grammar deteriorating with the march of time, i am bound to make more mistakes. In my case i am grateful, however it may not always be a kindness to be so blunt. I read your caption through four times without spotting the said mistake. Considering the dire hash jobs that are regularly dished out on this site (and I include some of mine in that list) one word does not a 'put off' make.
