Nod to 8:09:45 which also uses 'long legs' but not 8:17:37 which didn't use 'long legs' when this caption was made.

Why not just nod the photo which has a bird with long legs in it...

I think it is polite to give a nod when you're using a phrase that has been used before and I didn't want to seem impolite. I don't know why they've changed their caption again.

Not to demean your politeness... I think it dilutes the meaning of a nod ...If someone said long legs and it gave you an idea fair do's...But an obvious phrase that everyone who looks at that photo and thinks ' long legs' ...Nah sorry

The caption didn't give me the idea. I agree with you it is an obvious phrase but I didn't know whether everyone would see it the same way and when in doubt I tend to err on the side of a nod. In retrospect perhaps I shouldn't have bothered giving a nod at all. I'm sorry if I upset you.

I'm not upset and I am relieved that you're not as well. As always, your point was very valid and I fully agree with you that things that are obvious in the photo are fair game for everyone.

Awesome, keep your comments flowing especially that sense of humour. Gee, it looks like our first caption.me party has been delayed a bit longer but when it does happen I'll be first to buy you a drink.
