This has to be one of the cleverest captions I've ever seen. Superb!

I'm glad someone else gave it a vote I think it deserves it too

It deserves extra credit as it was 3 and a half hours after the photo reveal. I like when someone comes along with a brilliant late entry that never occurred to the rest of us. I can imagine the author shouted eureka when he/she thought of it.

I think we have all had those "Eureka moments" and placed brilliant captions late in the day for them to be left undiscovered. Its good to see good spirited captioneers happy to flag them up. Well spotted Michael.

Without wanting to be a party pooper, what does this caption have to do with this specific picture? It's relevant to a picture of two female sheep, but that's not exactly what this picture is. Sometimes I feel the captions on here only take into account elements that can fit someone's witty pun, and conveniently ignore other elements that are clearly supposed to be part of the challenge in captioning the picture.

(Damn- I was working late last night and forgot to check)

Evan, you have to actually say it to get it- 'W' sounds exactly like 'double ewe'. John, I actually suspected it was you, but didn't want to risk the embarrassment of getting it wrong (it could just as easily have been Rob Falconer). I take it that you must be a big fan of crosswords? I can never do them myself. Well done, anyway- caption of the year so far for me.

I think the valid point Evan is trying to make is that “Double Ewe” would only work as a perfect caption if the photo depicted just two sheep. It completely ignores the fact they are wearing something on their heads, which to me, is the whole point of the photo and thus should be incorporated in the caption.

Michael, I did understand the caption, but as Mr Toad has also pointed out, it ignores the key element of the picture and the reason that picture was selected for captioning in the first place.

I suppose if there had only been one sheep the author would have written "U".
